Amadeus, multi-award winning caterers, are a division of the NEC Group operating at venues and events in Birmingham and beyond including the NEC, the ICC, Resorts World Arena, the Vox Conference Centre and Arena Birmingham.
Our client has a great opportunity to join them and the animals at Dudley Zoo as a Head Chef. The moment you walk their venue you will feel a fun, roaringly friendly vibe created by people who genuinely enjoy the work they do and the enthusiasm we share through our teams.

Your role will be predominately based at Dudley Zoo however at times, you may be required to work at the groups other venues and events.

Your main duties will include the planning, preparation and delivery of all types of food and concepts to a set specification and standards. You will have to monitor your team’s performance and ensure that all hygiene and health and safety compliance is being adhered to.
Proven experience in a similar style kitchen operation is essential, along with the willingness to work with the team to always strive to take the food offering to a new and exciting level. Have knowledge of menu design along with a thorough understanding of both cost and wastage control.

As part of this role you will deal with all various aspects of kitchen management, which includes; Business Control, food cost, maintaining stock file integrity, stocktake and wastage control.
As an individual ideally you will have 4 years’ experience working within a busy kitchen in a similar quality establishment and hold NVQ 3, or equivalent in food preparation and cooking, be qualified to Level 3 in Food Safety , or be willing to undertake training to obtain, and have the willingness to learn new skills, which includes the Groups IT systems and be able to develop within the experienced culinary team.

Team work, effective time management and having a flexible approach to work in a 7 day week operation is essential, along with the ability to meet deadlines and deliver exceptional customer service.
This position is ideal for a forward thinking chef who wishes to increase their knowledge of food and progress their career within Amadeus.  Previous experience is essential.Qualifications and Experience:
